Economics and Rural Development
(ERD): The Economics and Rural Development group will
conduct studies on the competitiveness and sustainability of
agro-food chains and other productive activities in rural
areas.
The aim of the Economics and Rural
Development group is to develop work that will allow a
better understanding of the market of goods and services
with specific qualities. In particular, it is intended to
verify the benefits for producers and consumers' preference
for products and services resulting from changes in
traditional production systems or new systems of production
developed in rural areas. The group pays particular
attention to systems designed for more healthy products with
different organoleptic qualities, more environmentally
friendly or connected to the tradition, and more consistent
with the emerging patterns of consumption.
In addition, the group will develop studies on productive
activities in rural areas decoupling of food production,
such as tourism, energy crops, etc., as well as studies
related to strategies for communication, teaching and
teaching-learning processes.
