Job summary:
The Research Centre for Natural Resources, Environment and
Society (CERNAS), hosted by the Politechnical Schools of
Agricultural Sciences of Coimbra and Castelo Branco, invites
applications for 1 (one) research position in this sub-research
field.
The post holder will join the CERNAS, specifically the sub group
Food Science and Engineering (FSE). The post holder will have
the opportunity to start projects in the scope of this research
line. The post holder will be offered Centre´s common research
facilities and technical support.

letters for the position.
Job description
The contract for this position is for one year period minimum,
extendable to five years, and the gross annual salary will be of
approx. € 42,500. The candidates are asked to hold a PhD degree
in one of the following fields: Food Science, Food Engineering,
Technology and Nutrition, Veterinary Sciences, Agriculture
Engineering, with at least three years of experience and fluency
in English.
The successful candidate will be expected to strengthen the FSE
research group at CERNAS, based on its multidisciplinary feature,
gathering the different aspects of the farm to fork approach
concept, including food safety, total quality and public health.
The post holder will be encouraged to prepare and submit
independent research projects in the area of this research line,
aiming the reinforcement of cooperative research with colleagues
in the group, as well as with other national and international
teams.
The collaboration in post graduate students supervision mainly
what concerns dissertation supervision (MSc and PhD courses)
will also be a commitment for the post holder. Workshops and
seminars organization will be asked for within the group scope.
